What about using a small shared SCSI drive for the quorum stuff and using the toaster for the actual storage?
It seems like that should work for MSCS, but I've been surprised before by other Microsoft products that for unknown reasons differentiate between "local" storage and "network" storage... a filesystem should be a filesystem should be a filesystem to an application. One vendor we are working with now insists that everything must be stored in local RAID. I'm trying to figure out if that is because "Microsoft said so" or because the vendor doesn't know any better, or if it is possible (and perhaps advantageous) to store certain components on a CIFS volume without compromising the integrity of the cluster.
