Wrongo. SCSI is still way more expensive than EIDE.
Just an example of RETAIL market prices for drives.

about 15% difference in price. I wouldn't call that much. I think you're a bit out of touch with the market.
The US isn't the whole world. There are other parts of the world where SCSI is significantly more expensive than IDE. Norway is an example of this.
