Right -- ownership is based on how the disk shelf is wired up to the filers. So all the disks in any given shelf are "owned" by the same filer, regardless of whether they are part of a filesystem or a hot spare.
Hmm. I thought that disk ownership was not based on shelf. I thought that disks in the same shelf could be assigned to different filers. This is a rather important point to be clear on, since admins will need to plan for expansion by leaving open slots in two shelves rather than filling all shelves except the last one.
