You cannot edit the qual_devices file. Its integrity is checked by Ontap and it will reject any modification.
Um, since when? I've updated that file in 5.3.7x and 6.2.2x and unless some version later than 6.2.2+ now incorporates a checksum, the only "integrity check" I know of is that each line in the file must be properly formed. Screw up or delete the file and your filer might get very unhappy... but since when can't you update or add a new entry?
