Poor judgement is assuming one thing, over another. How politics has anything to do with a child's book is beyond reason.

I just see choosing any domain name for this type of discussion base with a political, religious, racist, or sexist connotation to be simply that of extremely poor judgment. Different cultures within different countries all have "topics" which are considered poor manners and bad taste in polite company and this domain name should have really should have been avoided altogether. We are discussing NetApp configurations and best practices, not "right/left winged" politics and should not even be part of the discussion.
As for the comment about politics being important to a company, I think one forgets that you subscribe to the boundaries of a company's culture which is generally to remain neutral so not to offend other employees. If you do not like a specific race, political structure, etc, you are welcome to have those beliefs but not necessarily actively participate or campaign them on corporate time. Many people fail to understand that you, as a corporate employee, tend not to own their systems, their networks, their storage, their email system, etc. These emails, while not 100% focused on such banter, might be viewed to be political in nature and unwelcomed. Granted, TeaParty may also not be offensive to a large majority of the population but to what part of the spectrum would it be 'not ok'? How about commiepigs.net or nazimilitants.net. While these example are the obvious, it is the subtle ones such as teaparty which in that subjective gray area of taste and thus really should not have been used in the first place.
After so many years, I too will be leaving this list as NetApp has growing blog presence on their NOW sites.

Sorry. I know, I know. I just can't have email coming from teaparty.net coming to my account lest it be misconstrued.
If the list moves, can someone let me know?
If I worked for someone who thought my politics was important I would change my job. On the other hand I have always had toasters going to my personal account. _______________________________________________ Toasters mailing list Toasters@teaparty.net http://www.teaparty.net/mailman/listinfo/toasters
