SQL PerformanceJay,
I would look at cpu, bandwidth utilization on the filer (sysstat) and server. You are probably limited by bandwidth. OC-3 is only 155 Mbps. Increase your bandwidth and you should see performance gains.

Hi everybody!
Are there any folks out there using SQL 7 on a Filer? I'm looking to see what you found as far as performance goes. We just moved 2 production databases to our F840 last night. We noticed that the copies to and from the database are incredibly fast. However, most queries other than the most basic have slowed down. In some cases it's as much as 400%. The Filer has 2 OC-3 ATM links and the database server has 1. We have a few databases that will be adversely affected by that kind of performance decrease. Are there any tips or tricks out there that might help other than going GigE? Any other observations?
Thank you!!
