We use Xinet KA-Share on an SGI box to re-export NFS-mounted file systems as AppleShare. It works pretty well. I would think netatalk would work just as well, and be a lot cheaper.

Hi,
I'm looking for current experiences in a mac environment where NFS/CIFS won't cut it (yes OS X supports them, but older systems exist). The toaster archives suggest that a Unix / netatalk gateway can work, but the latest post looks to be 2001-ish.
thanks, steve
