The only things I'm aware of from speaking with NetApp are:
1) Hardware support 2) Software support (subscriptions).
1) gets your box fixed and covers all hardware costs, no matter what the problem.
2) lets you run the latest DOT.
I was told that if I didn't want hardware support, I'd need to pay by the minute in order to even speak with NetApp to diagnose a problem, then of course, I'd have to pay for parts. The person I spoke with didn't really want to discuss this option with me and couldn't understand why I wouldn't want to pay for support on a non-production filer that we use only for testing. I couldn't get her to give me even ballpark figures on what per-minute support would cost.
