I agree with that. Also be aware that there are filenames that are legal under Mac's FS that aren't under NTFS (I think a filename ending with a space is one), so if the NT box is actually using a Mac-compatible filesystem as the share, going from it to an NTFS-compatible filesystem could cause problems. But the poster didn't seem to indicate that this was the case.
