- Is there some way other than dump/restore to copy a directory on a netapp that preserves all NFS and CIFS attributes?
check out ndmpcopy, i don't know how much faster it is, but i believe it will preserve the info. get it from http://www.ndmp.org/download/ndmpcopy/index.html
- We are running 5.2.2P1 and I don't see any dump flags that avoid including all the inode info in the dump. Am I missing something?
don't know of anything like this, if you want to discard inode information you probably don't want to be using dump
