Or, NetApp could just file this as an RFE and bring us Sun Netra-like LOM on our console port as originally suggested. Having worked with several Netras I must say it is quite the cats meow.

This thread is a bit OT, but I can't stand to see these recommended -- they're dreadful, nasty little devices. Be sure to check out the APC MasterSwitch -- they're kinda pricey, but it includes SNMP, HTTP and telnet interfaces (almost identical to those on the UPS's). We've ended up buying several dozen of them and every colo machine is connected to one.
