I could. Personally, I've never seen the need for it... pretty much every majordomo list I've been on a) works the same way[1] and b) tells you to save the message that tells you how to un/subscribe...
I think I'd rather send out a reminder now and again, unless there's an overwhelming opinion otherwise.
