sanlun on Windows?

Guys, Trying to map LUNs presented to a Windows host back to the source Netapp Volume/Lun using something equivilent to the 'sanlun' command I can use on Unix systems. I tried installing the Windows HUK (Host Utilities Kit) but burried in the release notes is a cute little statment that 'sanlun' isn't available on there. Is there *any* tool which I can use from Windows to show me the Netapp volume and lun name from the Windows side of things? Thanks, John

If the volume is snapmirrored be careful about wild cards, and forcing deletion of all snapshots. CDOT events and monitoring with unified manager

Hi folks, I'm looking at using unified manager to manage alerting for CDOT. Does anyone know whether it will immediately perform the defined action when the event is issued by the storage, or does it have to wait 15 minutes for a sync?

Thanks for the clarification and no, these systems aren't licensed for SnapDrive, nor are the Filers (a 8.1.x 7-mode HA pair). Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to look into this. I forgot to mention that I'm not a Windows admin, but always willing to learn. I'm a Unix/Linux and Netapp storage guy. DS2246 PSU removal unnoticed

Hi All, I've been testing a few monitoring scripts for cDOT and had to pull out some physical components on heads / disk shelves, I noticed the following: when a PSU removed from a DS2246 disk shelf, this fact is not visible for CLI tools like "alert" or "system health". Also Zephyr API calls of 'ses' category don't seem to have visibility on that. So currently there is one disk shelf running on a single PSU and cDOT is quite happy about it. The disk shelf has an amber light on and there was the following event log entry once the PSU was removed: 12/19/2014 11:05:15 na101node-1a WARNING ses.status.psWarning: DS2246 (S/N SHFHU1427000371) shelf 24 on channel 0b power warning for Power supply 1: not installed. This module is on the rear of the shelf at the bottom left. It's running cDOT 8.2.2 Did anyone have similar experience? Is it expected behavior. Cheers, Vladimir

Adding disks to existing aggregates

Hello toasters, A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to destroy an aggregate in order to consolidate capacity. I started off with two aggregates, each with two RG and both aggr were 600GB drives only the older drives were FC/15K whereas the new aggregate is SAS/10K (I know you can mix RPMs and I'm ok with that). What I'm not ok with is what happened when I attempted to add 8 drives to the new aggregate. The current RG size was 12 and there were 12 drives in the first RG and 11 in the second, I then changed the RG size to 16 and added the drives to the aggregate (expecting to add 4 in each RG). But what really happened is that OnTap added 5 drives to RG1 and created RG2 with the remaining 3 drives. Support couldn't find any documentation on this and (I knew this) that it could only be corrected by destroying the aggregate. Have any of you experienced this? FAS3270 SP max password length

Hello, I had to change root's password on FAS3270 and noticed that OnTAP 8.1.1 is OK with 23 characters long password (including spaces), but SP cuts it to 17 characters. I couldn't find any relevant document explaining this behavior. Is it expected? Maybe a bug?
