Thank you Justin for your response. Since this is a four-node cluster, if I force this application’s CIFS traffic through a lif on HA-pair “A” to a volume on an aggr owned by a controller in HA-pair “B” would those sessions still be severed if I upgrade HA-pair “B”? FAS2240-4 and 9.1 support

Hey there, trying to repurpose some of my older filers here and wiped them now and wanted to install with 9.1. According to HWU, this should be supported and I'm running a few FAS2240-2 with 9.1PX already, without issues. I did upgrade to 9.1P17 on two of these FAS2240-4 and after the install, one of them did not boot anymore because it said, that this platform is not supported on the release. Hi, Does anyone here utilize continuously available CIFS shares for anything other than Hyper-V and/or SQL? If so, do you have real-world results on how those shares do during ONTAP upgrades? I need to perform upgrades on a 4-node cluster and have a mission critical application that doesn’t like it when the takeover/giveback process severs its CIFS sessions. I’m trying to figure out a way to do this without causing downtime to the application which in-turn causes push-back on the upgrade plan. The application appears to be connecting to the shares via SMB3_1, so it should support CA, right? I’ve tested checking the CA box on one of its shares and the app drains connections to the share and stops sending any more traffic, so it appears to not like something related to that change. VMware datastore stats integration

I think I know the answer to this already (which is NO) but maybe I'm missing something not so obvious. Is there a way to insert into vSphere some storage statistics from NFS datastores on a per-VM basis? Eg, I want to see that VM prod-xyz is using 3924 IOPS and has 18ms write latency, and I want to see it through the single pane of glass that is vCenter Server in the VM specific statistics. I'm going to guess that the answer is no, not without some sort of plugin to vCenter that talks to an ONTAP API and tracks operations on a file level, keying from the VMDK path(s) in the VMX file. I'd also love to see those stats extended to per-VM physical and logical disk space utilization. I have no idea if those sort of stats are even available, and if they were, I would hope that someone on the NetApp side of the equation would have done this already as part of VSC. It would make reporting to management a lot easier. Just throwing it out there.. Alright – with regards to Chris‘ question: I did assume that a0a currently is not LACP or connected to a different set of switches, which is probably the reason, why you cannot just add the physical ports in a0b to the existing ifgrp a0a, right? Hi All, Is there any way to add vlan to existing vlan-id, just how we do at 7mode... curretly we are using 9.4p1 cmode.... below vlan already exists....so now if i want to create a0b for the same vlan id 608, am not getting vlan add here, so.. if i use ,network port vlan create -node cluster-01 -vlan-name a0b-608... is there any outage to this id 608, which is already running in production...? Azure CVO and CPU

Hi, Is anyone here using Cloud Volumes ONTAP in Azure? I’m trying to figure out why it is the Azure dashboard claims our CVO instance is always running at 100% CPU, but if one ssh’s to the virtual appliance and does a sysstat -m on the node it shows all cpus at 0%-1%. Any ideas on the discrepancy between what Azure sees and what ONTAP claims? — Scott
