R100 with 256 meg cf card

I've tried to upgrade two r100's from 32 meg CF cards to 256 meg CF cards (so we can have a backup boot image with OnTap 6.5) On both occasions it's pretty much choked as soon as it's tried to see the 256 meg card and we've had to do some messing around to get a single image onto the card I'm beginning to think that an R100 running 6.4.x just can't see a 256meg cf card correctly and was wondering if anyone else has had a problem doing this? I've been reviewing some documentation on the NuView FLM product and it looks like it will fill my needs fine - move aged files from my primary filer to an R200 and allow rules to block storage of certain file types (i.e. .exe, .mp3, etc). With some help from members of the list who identified the card as an Intel Pro/1000 T Gigabit Ethernet card, I was able to procure one of these from our IT storage. File Creation Benchmarks

Has anyone here run any benchmark tests on file creation (large number of small files) similar to Postmark ? Are there any measurements from a real world web server kind of environment where a large number of small files are created continuously under heavy load ?
