Dan,
I don't know what the default setting on a Cisco Gbit blade is, but I had a
similar experience this week on a 3Com switch. If autonegotiation is
enabled on the switch port, either turn it off at the switch (preferred),
or turn it on at the filer end:
rc_toggle_basic; alttune LinkNegotiation 1; rc_toggle_basic
You may find the card bursts into life :)
If you use this command, you'll need to put it in the rc file (after the
ifconfig for the Gbit NIC).
