We use mrtg to plot things like nfsops/sec, network i/o, disk space status,
etc. All these data are collected using snmp, qhich is what mrtg usually
does, anyway. This gives us, without too much hassle, a graph of
tha last 24 hrs, last week, month and year - these graphs can be very useful
to track down various problems (and to monitor available diskspace).
Mrtg is free software, i can't remember off the top of my head where to
find it, but it should be quite easy to find. If there's any interest
I'm sure I can dig up some example configs from our setup.
