Take a look at Intermine Filecensus. www.intermine.com . It doesn't do everything,
but I think it will do what you are trying to achieve and a whole lot more. I
have found that Filecensus compliments DataFabric Manager by providing more
granular reporting features. Together they almost provide the Big-picture down
to small-detail scaling that I would truly like to have.
Filecensus will allow us to keep track of
how particular shares have changed over time. Even better, we are able to view how
particular file-types have changed over time. This is particularly applicable
to unstructured data. By being able to figure out who and what is using the
bulk of our storage, we are better informed to develop ILM and capacity strategies
to deal with it.
The dream? A broad-spectrum,
multi-platform SRM tool that combines these types of tools all into one;
DFM
Filecensus
VFM
FLM

Subject: Tool / Script / Process
required
Hi,
I am looking for a tool / script / process around Existing
(Available) Storage Vs Storage Allocation in NetApp NAS infrastructure.
The main purpose of this is to track the available storage
and to look for storage growth.
I want to go one level granular than qtrees. (since our
group shares are one level under qtree).
Thanks & Regards,
