You can setup ssh to function with a key rather than a password.  Functionally it should work exactly the same as rsh except exponentially more secure.

 

I do this in 7 mode regularly, the following link looks like it should work for CMode

For cDOT, you want to stick with SSH. I am not even sure if rsh is support to cDOT.

I suspect it is, and it is treated much like telnet.

 

You would need to dig into the guides to see if it will work.
