It has been my pleasure to contribute over all the years!
It is literally due to this mailing list that I became known as TMAC!

Quick story:

I worked at NetApp a LONG time ago (Employee #147) when this mailing list started.
I would sign all my work with "--tmac".
Fast forward 3 years...at NetApp Sales Kickoff. I am intoducing myself ... Hi I'm Tim McCarthy.
Quisical looks. THen I say ...TMAC...and the usual reply was "Oh! Your're THAT GUY"

So it stuck.

Appreciate what this list did for the community.

Good luck Tom!

I think this list has finally, after slightly more than 29 years, run its
course, and unless I hear some cogent objections, I propose to turn it off
on 30/6/2026.

I know it's been useful to some of you over the years, because you've been
kind enough to tell me so.  I will try to keep the archives up on a
read-only basis somewhere; I suspect much of it is now of academic
interest only, but deep in my grubby little soul I remain of an academic
bent, so that's reason enough for me to try.

Thanks to all of you for making the list worthwhile.  Special thanks to
NetApp for tolerating its existence right from the early days, and a
couple of times intervening on my behalf to ensure deliverability inside
NetApp.
