C is the old designator for Cluster.  A couple of years ago NetApp decided to try to eliminate some confusion caused by common terms (instead they generally created more).  They no longer call their cluster a cluster, instead they call it an Active/Active configuration.  They no longer call their filer head a head, instead it is a storage controller.  They no longer call their filer a filer, instead it is a storage appliances.

Are you sufficiently confused yet?

a FAS6030A is two heads!
so a FAS6030 has 2 CPUs
and a FAS6030A has 4 CPUs
