I tested the manually way and this works.

Also I checked the Rest of your tipps and I can not see any issues. I think that is all correct.

Have you or all of the other „toasters“ any idea? I´m very helpless…. Thanx all.

The support call is open, but no answers till today. L

Betreff: RE: Snapmanager Exchange - Archived Backups with OnCommand (DFM)

Hello Jurgen,

The particular archived backup you are trying to mount may have expired in DFM, i.e., it may have been deleted based on the retention policy. You may want to check the Protection Manager to see if this remote backup still exists.

Also make sure the SMBR system:

·         Is connected with SnapVault destination

·         SDW is configured to connect to the SnapVault destination

·         SDW is configured to use DFM

If the above suggestions doesn’t help, please open a support case.

Subject: Snapmanager Exchange - Archived Backups with OnCommand (DFM)

Hello,

my Name is Juergen Roth and I´m a Systemadministrator for Windows Server and Netapp Filers.

We have two FAS3040 as a HA-Cluster. On the „primary“ we have a qtree with a Exchange LUN.

This LUN is a RDM for the one Exchange Server. We use Snapmanager Exchange for Backup the

Public Folder and Mailbox Database (only one Databse).

We take the OnCommand Server for a Data Protection Job and archive the Snapshots from

the „primary“ to the „secondary“ filer in a extra volume only for the Data Protection Job.

Another Server hast he Snapmanager Exchange with SingleMailboxRecovery (SMBR) for doing restores.

On all Servers we have the same Versions of SnapDrive and Snapmanager Exchnage.

Now the Problem:

The Snapshot Backups on the „primary“ filer can directly opened with SMBR. The archived Backups

On the „secondary“ filer can not opened directly. Following error message comes:

We can manual mount the Snapshot in SnapDrive and then we can starting SMBR for using this Mount.

But thats not the way, because our IT Service should do restores.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Jürgen Roth
