What Doug said, and thanks to Todd, Kevin, and Tom for maintaining such a useful resource.

For those with objections to the name of the new host, did you read the email last week from
our dedicated list administrators, in which we were told that the list was moving, where it was
moving to, and why it was moving, including the fact that, "That domain name was in place
long before it had the recent political meaning in the United States!"?  If there were any
objections at all to the new name, that was the time to raise them, not now, after all the work
is done.

Besides, this is an international list.  It would be absurd to ask the moderators to monitor
political movements in all countries where there are readers and contributors so as to be able
to change either hosts or possibly even the list name itself (horrors!) in the event that some
possibly-objectionable group decides to identify itself with some word that appears frequently
in list email.

Can we accept the notion that the new host had its name before the politicians grabbed it,
and go back to discussing storage?

And speaking of storage, here's a quick valentine for NetApp.  I just had to attach some new
storage from another vendor to a server, and just being able to identify the disks that had been
allocated to this project turned into a ridiculous odyssey.  I kept thinking how much easier it
would have been to do the same job if I had been able to work with a NetApp.

Are you kidding? I think we all should be happy the fellows at teaparty.net are willing to host this. Who are the external folks that are receiving the mail – generally someone who is aware of the list and knows what it is for.

It’d be a ridiculous reason to change the admins plans for migration etc.

I digress. The political teaparty will come and go, and this list will continue.

Agreed.

I appreciate that the fellow at teaparty.net for hosting this.

That being said it sends a political message that isn't intended for the NetApp community.  I know its not related, but by looking at the url, external folks wouldn't know that.

Would it be possible to host this on google groups instead of moving from one boutique mailing list hosting service to another?  Just a thought.
