I would check for any differences between the qual_devices files between N-Series and fas for those shelf controller boards and disks. That may help.

I vaguely remember doing this. It didn't make a difference. Are you just using the disks or are you trying to transition an aggregate?

Under the hood it’s a DS4243 currently running on an N-Series with ONTAP 8.0.2
We will be connecting it to a FAS3250 running ONTAP 8.2.4 P6
Both systems are not under support.
