If I load a new version of Data ONTAP like the latest 7.2.x GA/ GD on the FAS3020/3050, will the same FC driver that is used on the new FAS3040 get loaded as a driver update for the motherboard-based FC ports on the FAS3020?

The FAS3040, FAS3070, FAS6030 and FAS6070 onboard FC ports are 1/2/4Gbps capable, software assignable as initiator or target ports.

Except for the number and how the hardware fits in place (on the motherboard itself or in an FC tray assembly), they are identical.

The FAS3020 and FAS3050, being a bit older in the product family, are 1/2Gbps capable (also software assignable as initiators or targets).

Can someone confirm that the FC ports on the motherboard of the FAS3040
are the same 2Gbit/s FC as those on the FAS3020?

I know there is also 4Gbit/s but thought these were only available as a
optional FC HBA in the FAS3040.

Can you also confirm the type of FC ports on the FAS6070. Are they 2 or
4 Gbit/s FC? How do they compare to the motherboard FC interfaces on the
FAS3040.

Thanks
