Really?  I thought it would be closer to 465 or a maybe only a little less after format.  Most of the time they count 500GB to be 500,000,000,000 bytes and then you get to lose your 1024x3 to make it the real GB. (10.24x4 will give you a number too small, even taking into account the movement of the decimal point)

 

...but I could be wrong

After format it's about 425 GB

 

After the WAFL right it's about 370 GB
