Turning off TLS 1.0 as per http://now.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=234824 did the trick to the customer’s satisfaction.

Subject: Some Filerview Pages Not Working

Upgrade of N’tap 7.0.x to 7.2.4 and now some filerview pages initialize java and then do not display. Happens with IE 6 and 7, various windows versions and Mozilla as well.
