I belive it’s
supported by both, at least that was what IBM told me to get me to buy the 5600
from them. I’m copying someone who should know J

I’ve done this a while ago (ONTAP 7.2 sort
of time frame). It does indeed work from a technical point of view,
though I’m not sure whether it’s actually a supported solution by either
vendor.
