A previous post ID-ed “24732” on NetApp Community addresses this problem.
I think that people have gotten off track with this.
To answer your question directly, the part you need is a Finisar SFP, Model FTLF8524P2BNV. These are readily available. This is the origional manufactures part number, and it is OEM by NetApp as X6539.

I have access to both a Finisar 850nm FTLF8519P2BCL and a Fiberxon 850nm FTM-8012C-SLG. The Fiberxon gets detected using 'sysconfig -av' but I can't enable it, the Finisar doesn't even show up on the sysconfig command...
Any ideas?

We purchased a new FAS2020 and we didn't order a GBIC at the same time, we now want to connect to a FCAL tape drive. Can I use a standard GBIC or do I have to get one from NetApp?
