Carlos,
I can comment a bit but I'd like to learn too.
Conventional wisdom is (was) that you cannot run pop over NFS: the
file/record locking is inadequate. Certainly my Qualcomm pop
documentation says you mustn't use NFS.
Similar issues with mail delivery agents (am I using the right term?)
dropping mail into an NFS mounted directory (I use sendmail).
However, maybe with adequate bandwidth, or with a recent version of NFS,
these are workable. I have no knowledge of the particular server or pop
you are using.
I'd be glad of theoretical comments and practical experience since it
seems very attractive to have the mail drop directory on a filer. I've
never dared try!
Roger.

Hi
all,

The server SGI is acting as SMTP and POP3 server mounting Filer NFS
V3
/etc/fstab on SGI
filer:/vol/vol1/indy /filer nfs rw 0 0
filer:/vol/vol1/indy /var/mail nfs rw 0 0
Any comment would be appreciated.
Thanks
