If you are migrating from one NetApp system to a new one, I think if you ask NetApp, they will let you upgrade ONTAP on your old system.

It’s the same ONTAP files as you use on your new system… soooo. You might just “fix” it yourself 😉

But ofcause maybe the system cannot be upgraded… I think some of the older models cannot go past 9.1

And our source FAS is at 9.1. And It's no longer on NA support (we have HW support only from a 3rd party), so no upgrades.
