We have a 7-mode, 8.1.2P4 cluster with several interfaces configured. There is no mention of nfo in the rc file. We need to down an interface for an old subnet but need to verify this won't cause a cluster failover. I haven't found what the default behavior for an interface is if it is not specified. I assume it defaults to the network options listed below.

The takeover options are set for this:

cf.takeover.on_network_interface_failure on
cf.takeover.on_network_interface_failure.policy all_nics (same value in local+partner recommended)

This seems to tell me that all_nics have to fail before a failover would occur. It also looks like I could run a manual ifconfig command and apply the -nfo to be on the safe side.

I'd like to get a sanity check that downing the one interface won't cause a failover and that a manual change to an interface using -nfo would fix it anyway.
