Without getting into the details, there is a recent U.S. political movement that calls itself the "Tea Party."
The name is a reference to a tax protest against a colonial ruler more than 200 years ago, before the U.S.
became an independent country.  The 21st century Tea Party movement (it is not a political party, although
most of its members also identify with one of the major U.S. political parties) has become something of a
flashpoint, in that those who support and those who oppose it tend to have strong opinions about it.

My $0.02 worth: I am grateful to our faithful list administrators and our new host.  I acknowledge that the
domain name antedates the new political movement and wouldn't dream of asking the admins to move
the list all over again.  I do confess to some curiosity: Did the name originally refer to Boston?  Alice in
Wonderland?  :-)

Lol, great that I’m not the only one who knows nothing about what the issue is all about here.

Maybe I’m not interested in politics enough or I just don’t find enough time to read newspapers or watch news on TV, but I have no idea what the whole teaparty thing is about here – and no, I’m not really interested in googling that right now, just wanted to give a heads up to Frank so that he doesn’t feel alone here J

Joe,

You do realize the list isn’t connected in any way with the political teaparty? Frankly I find the entire hubbub a bit out of hand. Does this mean everyone would never go to Boston and visit to see the Tea party re-enactment? http://www.boston.com/travel/boston/gallery/boston_tea_party?pg=9

I agree wholeheartedly. This belongs on a service that is totally unconnected to any political, religious, or philosophical agenda.

I appreciate that the fellow at teaparty.net for hosting this.

That being said it sends a political message that isn't intended for the NetApp community.  I know its not related, but by looking at the url, external folks wouldn't know that.

Would it be possible to host this on google groups instead of moving from one boutique mailing list hosting service to another?  Just a thought.
