Thanks Justin! Yeah, we figured out it, unfortunately, doesn't work, I was just curious if that particular unsupported feature was the reason.

DFS-R is not supported. ONTAP can be a DFS-R target, but not in a DFS-R setup.
For SMB access across sites in ONTAP, your options are:
- Third party software, such as Peer
- If this is in the cloud, you can use Talon Software (as covered in this podcast: https://soundcloud.com/techontap_podcast/episode-233-netapp-acquires-talon-storage-solutions)
- if you can hold off for a bit, a future release will support SMB FlexCache. Check with your SE for an NDA update on that.
