Hello,
I faced the same issue a while ago. 7.6.0.1 does not work with ndmp cluster level. It will have to be a node level backup. The new version of the software permits the cluster level, vserver level backup.
Looks like you ar ein the ballpark here:NetBackup:6.5 & 7.0 with Data ONTAP 8.0.x 7-Mode and Clustered DATA ONTAP®
7.1 and 7.5 with Data ONTAP 8.1.x 7-Mode and Clustered DATA ONTAP
7.5 with Data ONTAP 8.2.x 7-mode & Clustered DATA ONTAP
7.6 with Clustered DATA ONTAP 8.3.xI *think* you may need to create a new management LIF to let the data flow out.I do not remember for sure, but if you are saavy enough....try a dump, and then examine the packet traces....it will tell you where it is trying to send the data.I will try to look it up, but it was some odd thing where the request came into the SVM-scoped vserver and the data wanted to go out the management interface. We created a new mgmt lif on the same subnet as the SVM at I think that allowed the data to flow out. Now, this may or may not be a netapp bug, I do not recall. It may behoove you to also update your netApp to a current release and try again.Be sure you are NOT using NODE-SCOPED ndmp, and you are configured for SVM-SCOPED NDMP--tmac--tmacTim McCarthyPrincipal ConsultantOn Tue, Nov 3, 2015 at 4:32 PM, John Stoffel <john@stoffel.org> wrote:
Hi,
Anyone using Netbackup 7.6.0.1 to backup via three way NDMP, a CIFS
share/volume on cDOT inside a VServer? It just ain't working for me.
I suspect I need to upgrade to Netbackup 7.7, but before I go that
route... I'm looking for other options.
Basically, I want to have the NDMP data flow over the network to the
Netbackup server, then from there to Tape. I don't have/want direct
attached SAN tape drives at this time on our four node cluster. It's
just one single volume I need backed up right now.
Thanks,
John
