Hi,
we
updated our Filer (FAS 3240) from 7.3.X to 8.02PX, with no Problems. 8.02P5
works fine, any reason for you to install 8.1RC2? I suggest to update to 8.1RC2,
because i want to connect a LTO4 Library directly to Filer (SAS), which is
supported on 8.1.During the giveback, we have a 20-30 sec network timeout,
which was no Problem for our VM's (Vmware/NFS). Not a single VM crashed (e.g. DB/WEB
Server).I customized the timeout settings of VMware, too. For copying Volumes,
i use ndmpcopy (e.g. the new root Volume), which works without Problems. There
are some changes with Interface Groups (rc), but it seems that vif is a symlink
to ifgrp, for example
:
OLD:
vif
create single vif1 e0a e0b
vif
favor e0b
NEW:
ifgrp
create single vif1 e1b e1a
ifgrp
favor e1a
greets
and good Luck!
Steffen

Betreff: NDU from 7.3.5.1P3 to 8.1RC2 supported?
Hi,
Is NDU from 7.3.5.1P3 to 8.1RC2 supported?
we are planning to hot swap out the 8.1RC2 incompatible ESH2
modules in our 3270 cluster (8 of them)
then proceed with a Non-disruptive Upgrade (NDU) from the
current 7.3.5.1P3 to 8.1RC2.
What will the clients see during cluster head failover?
Should we shutdown virtualmachines? Oracle?
Where is the current NDU doc?
Any other gotchas for this kind of upgrade?
thanks
